I am looking for an electric guitar that is from $200 to $300. I Prefer Fenders but any for around the price with the best quality for the price. Posting a link would be helpful.

200-300 Fenders are not worth it. They sound terrible.
Any ESP after 250 is well worth the price
You should be able to find a used Fender Standard Strat or Tele for that. Other used guitars that may get close to your price range are some Godins, PRS SEs and Reverends. Of course, it’ll be simpler to find a Fender or PRS SE than the others.
Other than that, Yamaha Pacificas, ESPs, Schecters, Squier (Fender’s budget brand) and Epiphone (Gibson’s budget brand) fall into your price range for new guitars.
In any case, I reckon it would be best to find a excellent shop with a excellent luthier/tech. He or she will be able to set up the guitar so it plays nicely and will be a pleasure to play and use to learn. S/he’ll also be able to tell you if there’s something you should avoid because of, say, a warped neck.
Everyone will have their opinions, but I reckon this is one of the best buys in that price range. Bought one for my nephew recently and was amazed by the tone, playability and quality. The first guy is talking out of his butt. He obviously owns the ESP and thinks everything else sucks. Common attitude among new players. Jeff Healy played a Squire Strat, does his tone sound terrible? ESP’s are very excellent guitars, I’m just a Fender/Gibson guy personally. You won’t find an American standard Strat for that money, they are $1000 plus guitars. You may find a used Mexican Fender for $300. If you do grab it and don’t look back. Mexican (MIM) Fenders are an incredible value. They run about $500 new and are much better guitars for the money than the Squire, or anything else in that price range.

Bob, whatever you do, DON’T buy the ESP that first guy recommends, he is a complete moron and obviously doesn’t know much about guitars!
I buy and sell used guitars and go through about 50 a month.
I know what the best value you can get for 200-300 – for that much if you like fenders, I would recommend getting a fender made in mexico strat or tele.
Try to get one used off craigslist or ebay… you can even get one cheaper than 200-300!
The latest copy of Guitar Player magazine, November, 2009, has an article on budget solidbodies.
They like the Fender Squier “Classic Vibe 50′s Telecaster.”
Yes, that is the exact model name…Classic Vibe 50′s Tele.
It goes for just a bit more than your price range…$349, but is well worth the few additional bucks. I’ve owned Tele’s before and they are effortless to play. GP mag states this guitar comes with “brilliant pickups and it plays and sounds fantastic.”
This is a fantastic value, and it’s a guitar you will never want to part with.
Below is a link to the article, so look no further..save a few more pennies and get your hands on one fantastic small budget friendly guitar.
You’ll thank me.
