just a different sound and thus a different vibe. The low tuning and heavier strings give a certain kind of richness that is different from standard tuning. Not better or worse, just different.
What do you get from tuning the guitar that way?

excellent and clear, very accurate.
Because of the heavier string guages the lowered tuning seems to result in normal tension on the neck. I don’t remember having to make any adjustments. The auges I used are:
6: 072
5: 052
4: 042
3: 030
2: 020
1: 016
Does that have any effect on the neck or whatever? Like strain? If not, I may try it. What gauge strings do you recommend?
