@alau18 Yeah, I believe so. I’m writing an essay on Les Paul’s sound recording innovations and from what I’ve read up on, Pattie Page – lacking her backing singers in December 1947 chose to have herself recorded several times.
Like in the record, ‘With my eyes open, I’m dreaming’, she used the overdubbing technique to make four-part harmony.
And seeing as Paul was experimenting with the overdub technique as early as 1930. We can safely assume that yes, she was following his lead.
I know patti page did a bunch of multi tracking in her vocals.
But not sure of the timeline.
Did she adopt it due to les’ lead?
build a wall, and GET OVER IT!!!!!!! do’nt dwell on symantics!!!
The rest of us knew what he meant Poindexter.
The word you’re struggling to find is “Affected”. “Effected” means something quite different.
effected, there wouldn’t be any multitracking without les paul. He was a god
its all sped up
It is terrible to reckon how rock and roll, multitracking, etc. would have been effected if this genuis had not been around
Fantastic, thanks.
The palm muted sweeps on the first song are insane.
incredible editing!
……
There are no words to describe the multi talented Les Paul, no one will replace him ever
Gotta like that last image. RIP, Les.
Simply THE GREATEST! Lets celebrate his fantastic life! Youll live forever wizard!
I remember seeing a vid of him ion music class. I thought “Damn he can play!”. A week ago I wanted to find a vid of him playing guitar but I forgot again. Today I got to wikipedia were it said he passed away yesterday… And nobody even talked about it to me… Unbelievable. He was a FANTASTIC player and inventor, even to this day.

There are not enough words to describe my immense appreciation, respect, and like for this man. God, what an influence he was and is to so many. I play on a Les Paul guitar and have recorded on mutlitrack recorder – none of which would be possible without this man. God Bless you Les! And to quote one of his fantastic tunes, ‘Vaya Con Dios’.
