and even if she was she channeled it to do something excellent, some of the best song writers were junkies but I don’t see that here.
I guess you could maybe read into the lyrics that it’s about someone poisoning someone else like that. Don’t reckon I’d call that a junkie song though. Junkies take the drugs themselves on purpose.
I don’t reckon the changes in person between “you” and “I” match that interpretation anyway. I read it more as switching between feelings of confidence and despair about a relationship. Could be incorrect though.
